WHAT TO LOOK FOR






Scratches, Dents, Scrapes on the Body — Check and see if body filler has been used by placing a magnet on the exterior and seeing if it sticks. If it doesn't stick, that means there is filler.
Chipped Glass — Some dealers may try to sell you a car with windshield problems. Don't let them.
Suspension — Stand next to the car and bounce each corner. If it bounces more than once, you have a problem.
Tires — Check the depth of the tread to see if they need to be replaced before buying the car. Also, make sure the tires are all the same.
Instruments — Do all the lights come on right before the car is turned on? If they don't, you may have some faulty instrumentation.

Interior Stains — Mold and mildew can form during rainstorms if roofs are not taken care of properly.
Fluids — are the colors of the fluids (oil, steering, brake) mostly clear or are they dark or burned brown? Make sure they're clear.

TEST DRIVE — Drive on both local roads and highways to make sure you get a full picture of the car's handling.
